PREMIERE Live: A Festival of Performing Arts, Technology & Experimentation.

18 September, 2025

PREMiERE is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project that aims to modernize the performing arts by developing and validating a comprehensive ecosystem of digital applications powered by cutting-edge AI, XR, and 3D technologies. To this end, it brings together partners from art academies, concert venues, research centers, and the business sector across six different European countries.

Join us:

PREMIERE Live: A Festival of Performing Arts, Technology & Experimentation. Registration is open.

To explore the crossroads of live performance, digital technology, and creative research.

Discover the technical solutions developed by our partners over the course of the project, and experience innovative performances and installations first-hand. This evening offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to get acquainted with all the tools developed within PREMIERE in a single immersive experience.

Over the past three years, PREMIERE has brought together researchers and artists to explore how AI and XR technologies can support the entire creative lifecycle of the performing arts – from creating and streaming to archiving and analysing. The project has resulted in a range of innovative tools to browse archives, stream performances, transmit knowledge, and co-create dance works.

At the heart of this work is the 3D Virtual Theatre: a shared digital space that brings together all these tools. It not only enables XR streaming of performances but also offers an interactive visualisation tool to explore past performances – including motion, sound, and speech data – in a three-dimensional environment, and showcases the use of the AI Toolbox for dance creation.

WE WILL PRESENT:

Performance

– Re-embodied Machine – a transdisciplinary stage work translating dance into music and light, by Instituto Stocos.

A virtual version of the Re-embodied Machine piece created and broadcasted live from Coliseu by CYENS during the Premiere final event (registration for online VR streaming below).

Immersive live performance and interactive installation

– Intuition Machine by ICK Amsterdam.
